Isla Palenque is some 400 acres, with five miles of coast and over a mile and a half of soft volcanic beaches, ranging from a large, zebra-striped crescent beach which faces the setting sun and forms most of the island’s southwest side… to numerous secluded private and hidden beaches, known only to those who explore the island extensively. Stunning views of the ocean stretch in every direction, whether from one of our pristine beaches, wild rocky outcroppings, serene coconut groves, or craggy ridges covered with ancient trees.

Isla Palenque, like most of Panama, has a rainy season from May through November and a dry season from December through April. During most of the rainy season, afternoon rains of a few hours are typical; it is only in October and November that the rains regularly become extended deluges.

Isla Palenque is truly a special place. To qualify this statement, I am writing this review nearly a year after our stay and I am still filled with a feeling of relaxation and nostalgia as I think back on our time on the island. Suffice to say that my wife and I love high-end travel and this spot is the most interesting, fun and beautiful place we have ever been. I traveled Costa Rica for 2 months just prior to professional school and I can tell you that I enjoyed the 5 days that we spent on Isla Palenque far more than any one location in CR.My only regret is that we stayed in Panama City for 2 nights. I wish we would have spent our entire trip on the Isla.
Fantastic resort! My husband, my 10 year old son and I traveled to Isla Palenque for 7 days and had the most amazing time. There was so much to do from the mainland tours, ocean tours and island tours we were never bored. The island is a true gem - totally private island with only the impeccable staff there to complement the experience. You may think that you will be "roughing it", but that is the furthest from the truth. Every one went out of their way to do something special for us. Whether it was to make a special drink from the medicinal plants, a grasshopper from grasses, take us to a special island stop, make arrangements at the last minute while on a tour to accommodate all our desires or just help us challenge ourselves to experience special sights, I couldn't have been more pleased. Thanks to everyone at Isla Palenque for making our vacation a most memorable one!
We were celebrating my birthday and spent 3 days and 2 nights. Definitely too short of a stay! From the moment we arrived we were delighted with the whole setting. We were immersed in the jungle with nature embracing us as we were driven from the peer to the hotel. The hotel itself is an architectural piece of art located amongst the trees with exquisite taste in interior design and luxurious and highly comfortable accommodations.Breakfast, lunch and dinners at the Edén Restaurant are superbly delicious! Morris is an outstanding Chef. The combination of ingredients Chef Morris used for each one of his dishes were flattering to our taste buds and the presentation was overwhelming!
